Our Story

In the leafy suburb of Karen sits a uniquely designed and created space called Karen village. The center is for the cultivation of great ideas and dreams, to harness creative energy and develop synergy to power the future of Africa. It serves to give a platform to the creatives and innovators where they feel a sense of belonging.

With creating a community and nurturing creativity we are growing the the core components of what Karen village is about.  The anchor space is full of artists, musicians, media and innovators with entrepreneurs and mentors all within the space.

How We Started

After consulting with more than 120 stakeholders, Karen village was created to provide a platform for showcasing innovative development. Learn more by clicking the link

Karen village was designed after a meeting of a creative brain group of over  120 stakeholders. KV asked this group what they felt was needed to create a space where innovative development can be showcased.

KV has achieved the requirements by the various facilities as well as programs we have created within KV which have organically attracted the listed groups of villagers.

Since our official inauguration in 2015 we now have over 250 separate innovators located or working with KV including fine art artists, social enterprises, artisans, musicians, entrepreneurs, dancers, actors film schools, directors, animators, drone trainers, surveyors, architects, a dental community facility, nursing teachers center, glass artists, sculptors, design Engineers and digital artists.

Our carefully designed walkways and gardens, fruit trees, open spaces and art all aid in creativity  so the villagers have the space they need to think, design and feel a sense of belonging.

Today

It is worthy to note that all these enterprises were only dreams and ideas, but are now a reality happening within KV. This diversity and unique mix of businesses are nestled inside a haven of creativity.
